View This E-mail As A Web Page How do liberals fight poverty? They make more people poor.
Of course, we're talking about the newest liberal-inspired plan to allow a United Nations style tax on American citizens. It's the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), and according to some conservative sources, this sickening bill could potentially force the United States to spend as much as $845,000,000,000.00 on welfare to third-world countries. Among them, Phyllis Schlafly who recently wrote:
And WorldNetDaily.com quotes Cliff Kincaid at Accuracy in Media as saying:
$845 BILLION is hardly a drop in the bucket and, yes, that's in addition to our Foreign Aid programs, which, in 2006, cost American taxpayers almost $300 BILLION!
If the Democrat-controlled Congress passes this bill, the United States will have taken the first step toward the complete surrender of our national sovereignty. And by the way, THE HOUSE HAS ALREADY PASSED THIS BILL! We MUST stop it in the Senate! Use the hyperlink below to send your 50 urgent and personalized Blast Fax messages to President George W. Bush and each and every one of the 49 Republican Members of the United States Senate. Let them know in no uncertain terms that you are watching and you will not tolerate massive United Nations style giveaways that are passed in the dark of night -- or in broad daylight for that matter. Tell them that putting us on the road to give billions to petty tyrants and dictators is NOT a solution to poverty. This bill can come up for a vote at any time. Demand that our conservative legislators do whatever it takes -- a filibuster if necessary -- to stop this bill dead in its tracks. http://www.acuactionnet.net/globalpovertyact.html AOL Members Use This Hyperlink If the above hyperlink does not appear to function you can copy and paste it into the address bar of your browser.
The amount of money alone should be sufficient to toss this bill into the Capitol Hill dumpster. But more -- much more -- may be at stake, because this monstrous bill starts us down a very dangerous path! Specifically, Obama's bill would require that the President: "acting through the Secretary of State, and in consultation with the heads of other appropriate departments and agencies of the United States Government, international organizations, international financial institutions, the governments of developing and developed countries, United States and international nongovernmental organizations, civil society organizations, and other appropriate entities, shall develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further... the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal" [Emphasis Mine] And just who are these "international organizations" and "international nongovernmental organizations" and "other appropriate entities?"
To translate this gobbledygook, we're talking about the United Nations (among other things). After all, the Millennium Development Goal is a United Nations creation. So essentially we'll do what the United Nations tells us to do -- something they don't have the right to do.
By the way, since we're on the subject, the UN's Millennium Development Goal -- proclaimed in 2000 -- contains plans for additional assaults on your wallet. Among those goals are: a "currency transfer tax," that is, a tax imposed on companies and individuals who must exchange dollars for foreign currency; a "tax on the rental value of land and natural resources"; a "royalty on worldwide fossil energy projection -- oil, natural gas, coal"; and "fees for the commercial use of the oceans, fees for airplane use of the skies, fees for use of the electromagnetic spectrum, fees on foreign exchange transactions, and a tax on the carbon content of fuels." It's clearly time to break the kneecaps of the United Nations, before these third-world despots, tyrants, dictators and ayatollahs bankrupt us. Here are some of the additional provisions of the Millennium Development Goal: a "standing peace force," meaning a standing United Nations army that might, in time, be large enough to force us to bend to its will; a "UN arms register of all small arms and light weapons," the beginning of the end of the Second Amendment to our Constitution; "peace education," to be offered "at all levels from preschool through university" (peace = Big Brother); and "political control of the global economy." In other words, it's a blueprint for a totalitarian world government, the kind Hitler and Stalin had in mind. The Millennium Development Goal also calls for "strengthening the United Nations for the 21st century" by "eliminating" the veto and permanent membership in the Security Council. And who are the turncoats who want to throw open the gates and let in the barbarians: Senators Barack Obama, Richard Lugar, Joseph Biden, Maria Cantwell, Chris Dodd, Dick Durbin, Russ Feingold, Diane Feinstein, Chuck Hagel, Olympia Snowe, Tim Johnson, Tom Harkin and Robert Mendez (RINOs in Red).

The Millennium Development Goal -- which, by the way, President Clinton endorsed -- also proposes:
The Soviet Union is back in business, this time calling itself the United Nations. Stalin "redistributed the land" in the 1930s, and the more prosperous farmers -- who for some strange reason didn't want to give up what they'd worked so hard to build -- were killed off... over 3 million. And almost 2 million more were shipped off to Siberia.
Yet the Global Poverty Act, as presently championed by the Obama 13, embraces certain aspects of the UN Millennium Development Goal.

Dr. Jeffrey D. Sachs -- a Columbia University economist -- is monitoring the Millennium Development Goal for the United Nations.
Phyllis Schlafly claims:
Joe Farah, publisher of WorldNetDaily.com said of this treacherous bill:
And yes, just in case you think the massive amounts of your tax dollars that were wasted under the United Nation's Oil for Food program were an aberration, and that such a thing could not eventually happen on a more massive scale were the Obama 13's Global Poverty Act sneak through the Senate, Doug Powers, writing for WorldNetDaily.com made this observation:
If the American people knew what was going on, we might well have a second American Revolution. But the Obama 13's Global Poverty Act is still flying under the radar.
