Stand on Issues

Zoning - I am opposed to zoning and restriction of private land use. It is a method of eliminating private property rights and putting control of your property in the hands of non-elected appointees. I will always vote against the confiscation of private property. Zoning takes away individual liberty.

Use of public money - Public funds paid by taxpayers should be used for the general welfare of all citizens, not for federal and state programs that have been proven to be ineffective.

Protect the welfare of the citizens - I will do all that is possible to insure adequate protection and security against prisoner escape by increasing the number of prison guards and manning the towers.

Appointments to office - I will do my best to convince the county board to make the chairman of the Ionia County Road Commission an elected office. A department with a budget of over one million dollars should be elected by the voters and be accountable to the electors not appointed by friends and accountable to no one.

As a member of the U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan, I am a constitutionalist. That is, I believe the Constitutions of Michigan and the United States of America are the supreme laws of the land. I believe Amendments 9 and 10 of the U.S. Constitution clearly state if a power is not delegated in the first eight amendmants and the body of the Constitution, that power is reserved to the States respectively or to the people.

Therefore, I am against all foreign aid. We should pay for only domestic projects that benefit national defense such as highways and border security.

I am against allowing criminals to come into our country illegally and drain the benefits our elderly have worked so hard to earn.

I am against the United Nations and believe the U.S. should get out of the U.N. and the U.N. out of the U.S. The U.N. has done nothing to stop wars, genocide, poverty or famine around the world. The U.N. has drained the U.S. financially and eroded our Constitution.

The U.N. is a non-elected self-appointed ruling body. Our national leaders are signing our sovereignty away through U.N. treaties and acts such as GATT, NAFTA, CAFTA and FTAA. We have lost tens of thousands of jobs to these so-called free trade agreements.

I am opposed to the proposed formation of the North American Union (NAU) that will create a regional government similar to the EU. If this occurs, we will be ruled by non-elected officials who are accountable to no one.

I am against a national ID card. We have state issued ID cards. Having national or regional ID cards will not make us safer and in fact will make it easier for terrorists to make false ID's.

Foremost and above all other issues, I am for the protection of the innocent. I believe the unborn are persons at conception and should be afforded all rights stated in the Constitution with no exception. The child should not pay for the crimes of its parent.

The life of the elderly should not be cut off at the whim of the health care provider resulting in euthanasia.

If you agree with these points and the party platform, I urge you to vote for all candidates running on the Taxpayer Party ticket in your precinct. The lesser of two evils is still evil. Vote for the candidate closest to your moral values. Vote U.S. Taxpayer Party / Constitution Party.
