Stand on Issues

Belief in God

"In God we trust" is printed on our currency and Scripture is etched into American monuments and buildings. That is not by accident. Yet this truth is being attacked frequently today. Our freedom comes from God and God alone as our fathers recognized.

"Shall we live as if we and our country were self-dependent and had nothing to do with the Supreme Ruler of the Universe?"
Samuel Davies, 1758

Constitutional Adherence

Why then do the current and recent congresses persist in government expansion beyond the constitutional limits? The federal government needs to be held to it's constitutional boundaries once again and sovereignty returned to the states.

"No legislative act, therefore, contrary to the constitution, can be valid"
Alexander Hamilton, "Federalist Papers"

Virtue and Integrity

If a man cannot live a virtuous life, how can he be trusted to govern? When a government is perceived as less than virtuous it loses the respect of the world, isolates itself from its own people, and loses its ability to produce human happiness.

"Honor is truly sacred, but holds a lower rank in the scale of moral excellence than virtue. Indeed, the former is but a part of the latter and, consequently, has not equal pretensions to support a frame of government productive of human happiness."
John Adams, 1776

Sanctity of Life and Strong Families

One man married to one woman. State support for no other union. We are killing our unborn babies at an astounding rate. Accountability should be a part of divorce and William Mohr calls for an absolute ban on abortion in the state of Michigan.

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union ... and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity ..."
United States Constitution, Preamble

Truth in Education

Education without the knowledge of God was never intended by our fathers, yet today we cannot so much as pray in our public schools. The fear of the Lord is still the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. Government has proven its inability to properly educate children. We need to return to the correct taching of history, creation, and the knowledge of God, and encourage private, home, and charter schools.

"It [learning] is friendly to religion inasmuch as it assists in removing prejudice, superstition, and enthusiasm; in promoting just notions of the Deity; in enlarging our knowledge of His works."
Benjamin Rush, "A plan for the Establishment of Public Schools", 1786

Personal Responsibility

A careless and undisciplined people encourage the advancement of a tyrannical government. The state of Michigan needs to eliminate all no fault laws including insurance and divorce laws. Crime must be swiftly punished. Criminals must make restitution, and tort reform is essential.

"A free government like ours cannot be maintained except by an enlightened and virtuous people ... But if the people be incapable of judging correctly of their conduct and measures, what security can they have for their liberties a single hour?"
Philip Lindsley, 1825

Citizen Involvement and Free Speach

Get involved. This is still a nation of the people, by the people and for the people.

"The basis of governments being the opinion of the people, the very first objective should be to keep that right ... "
Thomas Jefferson, 1787

Gun Rights

The registration and licensing of guns and ammunition should be ceased. We must demand that the federal government withdraw the application of its illegal gun laws in the state of Michigan.

"Every person has a right to keep and bear arms for the defense of himself and the state."
Constitution of the State of Michigan

Legislation FOR the People

Has your government been making you happier with it's legislation, or are your liberties being squelched?

"The public happiness is the true object of legislation ..."
George Bancroft, 1835
