I will support equal treatment under the law of all citizens. No citizen should be given governmental preference for whatever reason.
Of course, minor children have prudently never been given adult rights which have been deemed unsuitable to society (e.g. voting) or dangerous to the child (e.g. consent for sexual activity).
Those who argue for special laws protecting sexual orientation must realize that the states may well believe it to be in the public interest not to give special protection to persons who engage in sexual intercourse with members of their own sex, goats, horses, snakes or any other orientation they have.
