Education, Department of

I am running for federal office. The U.S. Constitution specifies what the federal government must do and what it may not do (amendment 10*). Education of the citizens’ children is not a function of the federal government. I will try to disengage the federal government from education except in the military and Indian reservations where it has jurisdiction.

*"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution,...are reserved to the states respectively..."

The federal government has no jurisdiction into education which is a state function.

Only by an unreasonable stretch of the Constitution’s welfare clause have our present rulers established the many welfare (including children) and education programs.
