Liberty and freedom are two different and distinct words.
We the People ... the sovereign citizens still have some freedom, but we have no true liberty as clearly defined by the Holy Scriptures and statements made by our founding fathers and included in our founding documents:
True liberty has gradually disappeared: by slight of hand, by fraud, by poor word definitions, by trusting our hired representatives (some of whom we elected), and by a lack of eternal vigilance by the Christian citizens of the many States.
Liberty relates to the bond between our Creator God and mankind - the only thing that leads to real happiness and the joy of eternal life by being born again.
The "Liberty Bell", purchased in the 1750's, is inscribed from the King James Bible: "Proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants therof." - Leviticus XXV.X
The "Liberty Bell" is also on the Franklin silver half dollar coin.
From the New Testament, these words are engraved in front of the downtown "Detroit Municipal Building", since 1953, and today are in gold letters: "Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty." - 2 Corinthians 3:17
Both Scriptures pertain to Almighty God, and our forefathers knew this: Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775 after seeing a pastor whipped to death for not having a license said, "Give me liberty or give me death!"
Benjamin Franklin correctly used the word liberty: "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety"
John Dickson, Delaware, signed the Constitution: "Honor, justice and humanity call upon us to hold and to transmit to our posterity, that liberty which we received from our ancestors. It is not our duty to leave wealth to our children; but it is our duty to leave liberty to them."
Additional Holy Scriptures, which time and space don't allow, would only more strongly bond the concept of liberty and our Creator God Almighty!
In the "Declaration of Independence": " ... endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
In the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States: We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
In the "Bill of Rights" Preamble: " ... to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers ... extending the ground of public confidence in the government, will best insure the beneficent ends of its institution."
Article V: " ... [not] witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; ... "
Article I: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech."
Freedom of speech is not necessarily politically correct! Liberty and freedom demand expression of ideas, resolving differences and moving in a direction that is true, honest, and upright in a mannor that glorifies God.
President Lincoln's address at Gettysburg reafirms liberty: "Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. ... That this nation, under God*, shall have a new birth of freedom; and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Present Lincoln, an attorney, used the word liberty and not freedom.
*In 1863, there was one Bible, the King James, and Christian people. The floodgates of immigration hadn't been opened to drown us with foreign and strange religions; Christianity is a relationship with the Creator, oneness for eternity!
Note that in Genesis 1:26-27: "God created man in His own image." All men worship something or someone: either our wonderful and Almighty Creator God or gods of their own vain imaginations. The Apostle Paul declared the true God to the Greeks because of the unknown god the men were worshiping in Acts 17:23-24.

The main problem is that in 1828, 53 years after the Declaration of Independence, Noah Webster who so often used Scripture to define words, did not use Scripture to define liberty. And men have to take it upon themselves to use freedom and liberty according to that which sounds best and for their own convenience.
Today our major problem is that patriotic church bulletins have been designed with flags and eagles, or that false image, the "Statue of Liberty", and without God's Holy words from the King James Bible, that our forefathers took such pains to purchase for us, and symbolized with the "Liberty Bell" in the 1750's. Later, during the "War of Independence", our forefathers sacrificed their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
It is time, for "We the People" **. Today is the hour, now, to take a clean sheet of paper for the "4th of July" church bulletin covers, and re-establish true liberty by putting on them the words of the Old Testament, New Testament, Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin, John Dickinson, and our founding documents:
It is time to make that mid-course correction, so that "We the People" can know and understand liberty and our true relationship with our Almighty Creator.
In the year of our Lord Nineteen Hundred and Fifty Four, President Eisenhower signed the law for our flag which specifies red, white, and blue. A light beam passed through a prism gives a rainbow of colors including a true red, and a true blue. My fathers flag with forty-six stars has a sky blue field. Todays flag is not according to law and the field is more navy blue and nearly black, and does not properly represetn the United States.
Moses led the people out of bondage and because of our own lack of vigilance, we are in the process of losing all of our freedoms with the "Patriot I" and "Patriot II" fiascos.
Liberty has been stolen repeatedly since about 1947 by our Supreme Court having the gall to mock our Creator God and deny us of God's Word: Bibles in school, Prayers in school, etc.
Deuteronomy 28:13 says, "And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; ... if that thou hearken unto the Commandment of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to serve and to do them. ... "
Foreign people with religions have come into our land and the choice was theirs. We should accept them, since they** are already here. However, our language, our customs, our beliefs, our schools, and our Christian religion should not suffer and we should be the "head, and not the tail" in the land God provided to our forefathers.
** Leviticus 19:34, "... Thou shalt love him as thyself. For ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God."
Numbers 15:16 states: "One law and one manner shall be for you and for the stranger that sojourneth with you." The stranger could adapt to Israel's customs but was not there to change Israel's customs.
I pray that this shot may be heard across our nation and around the world as Christians reclaim the ground Satan has stolen and the God may poor out His spirit in the latter rain according to Joel chapter two.Caleb and Joshua believed God. The midwives believed God and Moses was born. Jonah followed God and in three days Nineveh was saved. By faith, four, were saved from the fiery furnace, and Hebrews 11:6 says: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."
