Hello! My name is Harold H. Dunn and I live with my wife at 600 Dowling in Westland and am a retired Automotive Engineer. I am running for the Michigan House of Representatives in the 18th district, which is Westland. I do not accept campaign contributions from anyone, so, if elected I will owe only the voters my loyalty.
What I would like to accomplish in Lansing is an improvement in the Health Environment for most Michigan Residents. Humans have never before been subjected to the great number of Toxins in Food, Water, and Air that we have today. This is verified by Dr. Sherry A. Rodgers M.D. in her book "Detoxify or Die". Governments no longer care about "We the People" so toxins are now allowed, only shelf life is important.
I would start with elimination of chlorine in our public water systems replaced with ozone, which is used in Los Angeles and in most of Europe, as chlorine is a known carcinogenic and cancer is now out of control.
Health care is becoming a serious problem in this state. All the degenerative diseases are out of control and the Medical Doctor's answer is multiple pharmaceuticals that rarely cure anything. There are now 13 states that have passed Alternative Medicine Practices acts. California joined on Sept. 2002. I suggest that we give the MD's some competition.
The State of Michigan Government is not important, but the People of the State of Michigan are! The State government has been expanding by double digit percentages for some time. Now with tough times approaching the State Government should start to shrink. Raising taxes or fees is not the correct answer to the state's money problems. I recommend that Michigan privatize State Colleges and highway rest stops, and reduce the size of state government by approximately 30 to 40%.
I would propose a state law that any family that either home schools or sends their kids to a private school are fully exempted from all public school taxes to encourage parents & children to leave the failing public school system.
I feel it would help un-employment by improving the small business climate in Michigan by immediately eliminating the complicated single business tax.
Michigan is one of only seven states with a full time legislature. I believe it is time to join the other 43 states. In Lansing they call the legislators the "Tuesday to Thursday crowd" because they show up at noon on Tuesday and leave at noon on Thursday, hardly a full time job.
November Elections
In "Governing Magazine" they now rate Michigan as the number one state for unemployment and place the value at 7%. We should know that when your unemployment insurance runs out they drop you from the unemployment list, so the real number is about 14%. People are no longer coming to Michigan, they are leaving.
So, since the Federal Government has caused this problem with their "Free Trade Policy", what are they doing to correct the problem? The answer is nothing!
What does the U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan and its national affiliate the Constitution Party propose to do about the above problem. We would eliminate the unlawfull federal income tax and support the federal government with a Tariff of approx. 40% on all incoming goods to this country, just as we had for over 100 years in the past.
So, if you don't want the United States of America to become a third world country - exactly where we are now headed, and you want to return to a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, instead of a government of the bought and paid for politicians, by the Republicans / Democrats, for big business and all the lobbyists (certainly not for you the people), then don't vote for any Republican and don't vote for any Democrat, because we really don't need any elephants or donkeys in our government, and also, because we have enough illegal immigration, spending trillions of dollars on a false war propagated by lies about about weapons of mass destruction, and continually ignoring the law of the land (Our Constitution).
The Elliott Wave International Company investigates the economy worldwide both past and present and uses this information to predict the future. Currently they predict our Stock Market will experience a severe dip in values this fall and then again in the first quarter of 2007. And they predict that we will suffer deflation, so hang on to your money, as everything else will devalue. (Cash will be king).
Their latest prediction 8/4/06 is: "We are in a global bear market in stocks, property, commodities and most bonds. It is the biggest bear market in 300 years. The overriding theme will be deflation. None of this is obvious to anyone yet, and when it is finally obvious to everyone, it will be over." (A bear market is one going down.)
The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being created in God's image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, the duty of all civil governments to secure and to safegueard the lives of the pre-born. We affirm the God-given legal personhood of all unborn human beings, without exception. As to matters of rape and incest, it is unconscionable to take the life of an innocent child for the crimes of his father.
The goal of the Constitution Party (and the US Taxpayers Party) is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblidal foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundries.
